We believe that you should be able to enjoy your food and your drinks among friends and family in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, we have set up the Compton Swan to reflect this.
To us, food is not just what is on your plate or how it is cooked, but it also defines what our beliefs, culture and our values are. Food taste better when it is shared in the right atmosphere and sometimes when you can use your fingers! We are all becoming more aware of food and the role it plays in our lives, it touches us differently but we believe it is important to keep it simple fresh and fragrant. We want to cook food for everyone, we want you to enjoy it, with friends, family on special occasions, if you are just on your own we will keep you company.
We believe food should be cooked from fresh and seasonal ingredients; we want to provide you with quality and will get our wellies muddy, going through cabbage patches, tread in cow pats fields to make sure that the food you receive is from people we know and we trust.
As we say food is better shared so we will provide sharing dishes that you can enjoy with friends and family, grilled whole chicken served at your table, rib of beef or roasted shoulder of lamb to tantalise your taste buds. We all have a picture in our minds from a time when we were young and having dinner or lunch with our family and friends, and there was laughter, smiling, love and of course, great food. We will try to capture bits of these in our pub and would like to help you forget any little the strain your busy life we will have achieved a little something. We are what we eat or so they say…
With good food comes good wine and good beers. We are so passionate about wine that we have named our rooms after their grapes. Our list will evolve with time we will find some real gems and unusual grapes, great wines made by great wine makers, furthermore we will price them attractively so you can enjoy our fine wines even better.
Our beers will rotate and we will have two guest beers at any one time, we will make sure we always serve them fresh and crisp, no funny smell or cloudiness.
